Online users have been moved by a vintage clip of popular Nigerian singer Wizkid performing on stage in tribute to his late mother.
Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, lost his biological mother to the cold, cruel hands of death yesterday.
On Friday, August 18, 2023, around 1:30 PM, Wizkid’s mother Mrs. Balogun passed away. Wizkid’s mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun, passed away early on Friday, according to Sunday Aare, Wizkid’s longtime manager, who confirmed the incident.
“Yes, she died this morning, at about 1:30am,” Aare said.
However, a throwback video in which Wizkid expresses his love for his late mother has sparked a lot of online discussion.

In the video, Wizkid brought his mother on stage and consequently sang for her. The two also displayed their on-stage chemistry, with the mother displaying some incredible dance moves.
