Davido, a Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, recently wrote about his experiences running a record label, and it received a ton of online attention.
In a recent interview, the CEO of the DMW record label admitted that he never received any money from any of the artists he signed.
It is important to note that Davido has always been committed to developing the artists signed to his label, DMW. He established his record company in 2016 after leaving HKN Music, and among the artists he signed were Mayorkun, Idowest, Yonda, Ayanfe, and Peruzzi.
According to Davido, he managed his artists for the first four years after starting his music record label without charging them any money.
