Temilade Openiyi, a popularly known as Tems in Nigeria, has caused a stir on social media for the way she hugged her co-performer Wizkid at a recent concert.
The highly anticipated “Essence Fest” took place on Sunday, July 2. The Afrobeat sensations, best known for their hit song “Essence,” performed together.
Wizkid took some time after their spirited performance to express his gratitude and make a speech for Tems, who is 28 years old.
At this point, Tems’s close grip on Wizkid and the way he affectionately rubbed his arms before giving him a warm embrace caught everyone’s attention. Wizkid remained silent the entire time instead of returning the hug.
A flurry of comments have been made in response to this single incident on social media, with many criticizing Tems for touching Wizkid inappropriately and disregarding his personal space.
