A Catholic priest, in charge of St Anthony’s Parish, Rev James Kantoma has reportedly been abducted by unknown gunmen in Plateau State. 9jamedia gathered that the assailants abducted the cleric in his house situated in the Angware community of Jos east Local Government Area.
Rev. Father Kantoma is also the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the council area. The gunmen are said to have arrived in the community last night and went straight to the house of their victim. Residents, mostly youths who were alerted by the incident reportedly tried to stop the criminals and even gave them a hot chase into the bush. They, however, gave up the chase after the assailant reportedly began shooting sporadically and eventually took the Reverend Father away.
